Statement sleeve cardigan…

Happy Saturday friends! When I first took these photos I wasn’t sure if I wanted to do a blog post. After pondering over it for a while, I realize this statement sleeve cardigan was so stinky cute, I had to share. If you follow me on Instagram, you know I have fallen in love with SheIn. Affordable fashions at its best. And I’m all about fashions on a budget.

This burgundy cardigan had me at statement sleeve. What’s not to love about it? It also comes in grey, and I’m sure I will get around to ordering it. I mean for $18, why not… The cardigan is lightweight, and can be worn even when the temps get a bit warmer. How bout pairing it with some cute distressed jean shorts, and a graphic tee. Wow… The material was soft to the touch, not itchy like some cardigans I’ve purchased before.

I knew when I ordered it, I had the perfect dress to pair it with. My floral JCPenney dress was rich in colors, and worked well with the cardigan. The only thing missing was what shoes would I wear. I opted for my olive booties as the dress had a hint of olive in it. Now my look was complete, and I loved everything about it. What’s your thoughts on statement sleeves?

Until next time,

The Wall Of Inspiration…

Hello everyone, I wanted to take some time to share my latest project. When I first moved into my house, I knew I wanted to turn one bedroom into a dressing room. I accomplished that, but something was missing. When you first walk into the room, I wanted to be inspired. Hence, the wall of inspiration. I found the cutest wall decals from the dollar tree, so that was the start of it all. I stared at the wall daily, but it just wasn’t moving me.

So on that day, I decided I would go on a hunt for inspirational wall art. I found so many pieces to choose from, and it was all coming together as I envisioned it. I spent an entire day going from store to store. It was so much fun (happy dance) seeing all the beautiful pieces. For the first time in a while, I was shopping for something besides clothes… Although shopping for clothes really get me going, this project was taking me on a new high.

A few of the stores I found pieces at was Burlington, Hobby Lobby, Ross, Marshalls, HomeGoods and At Home. I was so ecstatic with the outcome, I have decided to do an inspirational wall over my bed.  I hope you love it just as much as I do. A few of the exact pieces are not available online, but I’m sharing a few that I know you will love. Now when anyone walks in the room, they will be inspired just as I am. Share some things that inspire you daily!

Cape Sweater Dress…

Hello friends,

The excitement I felt when I put on this beautiful cape dress, I had to stop in to share. I had no idea that I would love this dress so much. As a women who loves Fashion, finding the right dress can change your entire outlook. This dress was no exception. The fit was perfect, as it hugged me in all the right places.

Lately, I’ve been doing a great deal of online shopping. It’s so easy to do, but sometimes it’s an epic fail. You just never know if the product is going to fit. Even though you may follow the size guide, there is still a chance the fit will be off. How about you, do you do more online shopping? For me, I will hold onto clothes that didn’t fit, yeah I know crazy. Whether it’s too big, or too small, I just don’t like returning anything.

Now back to our regularly scheduled program. This dress also came in black, I’m just sorry I didn’t order it. Enters my sad face, as both colors are sold out. I looked online everywhere for a dress similar, and unfortunately I couldn’t find one anywhere. I honestly found a gem with her, and everyone else must have too.

Being a petite woman, finding the right dress can sometime be challenging. I’m sure my petite woman can relate. Most of the models that are wearing the dresses are usually taller, so of course the look want be the same on me. In the words of Tim Gunn, I make it work. At the same time, I hope it doesn’t make me look frumpy.

I decided to pair the dress with my Calvin Klein boots, and my black tights. Adding my box bag, brought the entire look together. This box bag will add just the right amount of sass to any outfit. What do you think? It’s actually one of the best purchases I’ve made from Sam Moon. If you live in Houston, you really need to visit this store. The store is any girls dream. I’ll say it’s accessory heaven. All the pieces I’m wearing have been sold out online, however I’m sharing a few similar pieces I know you will love.

Until next time,

It’s All In The Word…

Happy New Year Friends,

As the new year approach, I knew I had to do something’s differently. When I look back at 2017, I realize there was no “Balance” in my life in regards to professional and personal. So yeah, that’s when it all clicked. My word for 2018, will be balance. This is probably going to be the hardest thing for me to accomplish, but I refuse not to succeed.

I spend about 50 hours a week working, and I give all of me to ensure I’m doing a great job. This is all I know, WORK! WORK! and more WORK. Well not this year. I will make time for the other things in my life that make me happy. It’s crazy, I get invited to outings often, but always seem to find a reason to opt out. The one reason I always use is, I’m tired. I thought about that long and hard, and ask myself how can you always be too tired to enjoy life, but not when you’re working.

Hence my word “BALANCE”

You know, I was having a great conversation with my mom, and she said, I need to treat my blog like my baby. No matter how tired you are, you still need to feed the baby. That really hit home for me, and solidified my word of the year balance. I purchased several planners, to help aide me in my quest to balance it all. As you know, Accountability is key, and writing everything down will ultimately keep me on task.

When I first started blogging, I knew others that worked full time and for the life of me couldn’t figure out how they balance it all. After many DM (direct messages) of me inquiring, the one thing that stood out was: Anything worth having, you will find the time to make it work no matter what. I love blogging it’s a creative outlet for me, and I want to ensure I’m providing the best content for my readers.

Lookout 2018, I’m about to take over. I plan to attend more blogger events. Do more collaborating with other bloggers. If I want my blog to really grow, I have to put the same amount of work into it, like I do with my day job. My blog is where I share my fashions, but I hope to inspire others to take risks with their fashions as I do.

Until next time,
